Posterior Tibial Transverse

Posterior Tibial Transverse:
Posterior Tibial Transverse Overlay
At the medial molleolus, the posterior tibial tendon forms a groove in the bone, which is evidenced on this view. Because of this, when scanning this structure on the long axis it is necessary to angle the probe from posterior to anterior. The fluid within the tendon sheath is also apparent.
